Forza Motorsport was released May 3rd, 2005 to the United States by Microsoft Game Studios for the Xbox. Looking to be one of the most realistic racing simulators out for playing, forza gets its name meaning "strength" in Italian. Forza Motorsport's competitor is the Gran Turismo series available on the Playstation consoles. There area few major differences between the games:

In the game, each car is put into a class depending on their performance either as a stock car or from their upgrades.Each class has four sublevels (except for R class) and can be changed by upgrading your car.
bulletClass D: Standard production class.
bulletClass C: Sport production class.
bulletClass B: Performance production class.
bulletClass A: High-performance production class.
bulletClass S: Ultra-high-performance class or Supercars.
bulletClass R: Purpose-built race cars.
Class R Sublcassess
bulletR-GT: Race cars based on entry-level sport cars or sedans with roughly 300 hp.
bulletR-GTS: Race cars based on mid-level sports cars or sport sedans with roughly 500 hp.
bulletR-P1: Lightweight prototype race cars with roughly 600 hp.

To progress through the game, you go through career mode earning winnings in order to gain levels. The higher the level, the more cars and races that are open. Each race has a set of different courses you must win in order to recieve the grand prize of some type of a car.
